Our custom sweater fabric is composed of 55% Tencel Lyocell Fibers, 30% Organic Pima Cotton, and 15% Merino Wool. We cannot say enough good about this fabric; the mix of Tencel, Pima Cotton and Merino Wool creates an ultra light-weight and pillowy soft material. All of the fibers in our sweater fabric are biodegradable and will completely break down with environmental exposure into organic carbon. While the sweaters feel delicate, this mix of fibers is actually extremely durable and resilient. Here's how your new Ellor style was made, with you and the environment in mind.

Design and Fabrication

Every garment starts with the design process. Once we find our inspiration for a style, our designer draws the silhouette and sends it to one of our Fair Labor Certified factories. Each of our factories specializes in a type of fabric, so this design is headed to our specialists in Sustainable Sweater Yarns in China. We have all of our fabrics custom made for our collections, and our factory is one of the best in fabricating luxury knits. Having fabrics custom made adds time to the design process, but ensures that our garments are 100% Organic and the fabric has the perfect feel.

About Our Sustainable Sweater Yarn

Organic Cotton is produced and certified to Global Organic Textile Standards . Its production sustains the health of soils, ecosystems and people by using natural processes rather than artificial inputs. Most importantly, organic cotton farming does not allow the use of toxic chemicals or GMOs. Instead it combines traditional innovation and science to benefit the shared environment and promote a good quality of life for all involved.

Growing Organic Cotton seeds is much better for the environment than farming conventional seeds because no toxic chemicals are used. It doesn’t damage the soil, has less impact on the air, and uses 71% less water and 62% less energy

Farming Organic Cotton even keeps farmers and their families safe because they are not exposed to toxic chemicals in the field or through their food and water supply

Once the cotton is carefully harvested, it's then put through a ginning process to remove the seeds and clean the bales

After the Organic Cotton is cleaned, the fibers are spun to make super soft yarn. This yarn is carefully woven to make bolts of our Organic Cotton Twill

At this point in the process, we cut and sew all of our styles in our Fair Labor factories. then garment dye them using only low impact, Global Organic Textile Standards certified dyes
